This painting by Carpaccio, signed and dated, represents an homage, with some variations, to the celebrated work of San Giorgio degli Schiavoni, the background enriched by the depiction of the Stoning of Saint Stephen, whose relics are held at the church along with those of Saints Jerome and Benedict.
