Cloister

Donato di Angelo di Pascuccio

Church of Santa Maria della Pace

DESCRIZIONE:

One of the finest examples of renaissance architecture in Rome, it was created by the great artist from Milan, who came to Rome at the end of the 1400s. The work was commissioned by Cardinal Oliviero Carafa, to whom there is an inscription on the cornice and whose crests are on the ionic-style columns. The cloister is made up of two levels of columns with an ample portico with a vaulted roof. Today it is an important center for exhibitions and events.
