DESCRIZIONE:
Once known as the Teatro Vendramin, the Teatro di San Salvador and the Teatro di San Luca, it was inaugurated in 1622 as a theatre for prose productions. In 1752, the theatre's owner, the nobleman Francesco Vendramin, was able to engage Carlo Goldoni, for whom the theatre was renamed in 1875. Among the celebrities who graced its stage, was Eleonora Duse, who acted there in 1902 and 1922. After the war, the theatre was closed. It was reopened in 1979 in its actual state after a complete renovation.
