DESCRIZIONE:
Built by the Humiliati order between the middle of the 1300s and the 1400s, it was originally consecrated to Saint Cristopher. It changed its name in 1377, when a miraculous sculpture of the Virgin was found in the nearby vegetables garden (today located in the Saint Mauro chapel). The facade is one of the most interesting of Venice for a combination of Gothic and Renaissance elements while inside there is an amazing series of paintings by Tintoretto, who was buried here.
