Ara Grimani
San Marco
- Location: Ara Grimani
- Date: I century BC
The work (room VI) is a masterpiece from the late Hellenistic age bequeathed by Cardinal Domenico Grimani. It probably was the base of a statue and features four decorated faces featuring Dionysian subjects of fine technical quality. The female figure with her back turned in the kiss scene was used many times by Tiziano, Correggio and Veronese in their paintings.
