This scultural group decorated the pediment of the temple, which was to the right of the Theatre of Marcellus, three columns of which remain. The sculpture, which shows a struggle between the Greeks and the Amazons, was taken by the Romans from a Greek temple and used in the reconstruction of the temple of Apollo Sosianus during the Augustan era.
