Jesus Giving His Blessing Surrounded by the Evangelists
The mosaic, on which the two great renaissance artists probably worked one right after the other, decorates the vaulted ceiling of the Chapel of Saint Elena. The work is traditionally considered to be a repair of an ancient work dating back to the time of the Roman Emperor of the West Valentinian III (425-455) and this would explain the heavy byzantine influence.
