TURNA. The space between the art and the design

An old district that is home to the contemporary. A space that you treasure trove of visionary objects made ??of paper, resin, wood and metal, a lounge in the center of the glass. A walk through design installations that invade the local axis of Via Sant'Agostino. Piazza Emanuele Filiberto which becomes an agora to discuss; student projects , which have not yet realized but aspire to be. And then workshops for adults and children, to learn by creating, under the guidance of artists and designers.
This is the new edition of TURNA_lo space between art and design, which will take place from 6 to 8 June in the Roman Quarter of Turin , which will be devoted to the borderland between art and design : three exhibitions ( TURNA_in show , TURNA_in the spaces and TURNA_to produce ), as well as meetings and workshops, to tell a liquid space, made up of works and objects are difficult to classify.
Three days of art and design, to suggest new looks, free of definitions and membership in a stream of pure creativity that runs through the streets of the Quadrilateral, giving voice to galleries, artists and designers.

TURNA _in show
A unique event of its kind in Italy , with a selection of Italian and international galleries operating on the border between art and design who will present a selection of works from cutting-edge , representing collections of contemporary design ; a show that mixes languages ??, with the aim of suggesting a transversal , seamlessly , between art and design , going to generate new landscapes free from definitions.
Participants: Antonio Cagianelli, Pawel Grunert, Alessandra Roveda ( Paola Colombari Gallery, Milan ), Nacho Carbonell ( Spazio Rossana Orlandi, Milan, Italy ), Roberto Mora, Daniel Papuli ( Dilmos Gallery, Milan ), Michelangelo Pistoletto, Bill Woodrow, Richard Woods, ( Memphis srl , Milan, Italy ), Alberto Biagetti ( Memphis srl, Milan - Galerie Italienne , Paris ), Nucleus ( Nucleus, Turin and ammann / / gallery, Cologne ), Maria Grazia Rosin, Giorgio Vigna, Marco Zanuso Jr. ( Pron art & design, turin - Galleries Italienne, Paris ) and Silvia Levenson ( Antonella Cattani Gallery Contemporary Art, Bolzano).
The exhibition will take place at the space Magnifica Preda, vintage store on Via Sant'Agostino 28, which for the occasion will present itself in a totally new form.

TURNA_in the spaces
A series of site-specific interventions designed for different rooms of the Quadrilateral hosting the event. Works of design , from furniture to complement , presented in the key of installation within the space. The Prize will be awarded this year to the installation Turna most interesting and innovative among those realized.

TURNA_to produce
A review of projects, yet unrealized, which refer to the realm of interior design. The projects will be evaluated by a jury of quality in order to financially support the implementation of the prototype of the winning project, supporting young creativity in a practical way.
The exhibition will be held at the exhibition area of Space Azimut Piazza Emanuele Filiberto 11 / A.
The projects in this section participants will take part in the Festival Architecture in the City he will be held June 10 to 14 at the Basic Village ( www.architetturaincitta.oato.it ).
 
EVENTS / EXHIBITIONS
During the event , in addition to the three exhibitions TURNA, there are a number of activities including exhibitions , talks and performances, such as:
? Show Empatic Travels. A year with Patricia Urquiola organized by Domus Academy in collaboration with the Library nb: notabene (Palace of San Liborio, Via Santa Chiara 1/bis ).
The exhibition recounts the experiences shared project by the students of the Master in Interior and Living Design at Domus Academy in the year 2013-14, with Patricia Urquiola, and in collaboration with companies B & B, Flos, Kvadrat, Moroso. Presented by Francesca Vargas and Gianluigi Ricuperati.
? Show I am a designer sponsored by Institute of Applied Arts and Design - IAAD ( Via Bellezia 33 ) . Former students IAAD present their own brand of self-produced design, with projects: I cycle Giuseppe Monopoli ( restyling bicycle excluded from the landfill and converted ); Sharon 's Creations Sharon Amoroso ( handmade creations made ??with recycled materials is given a second chance ); Symbol of Matter & Valeria Francescato (seven items made with the wood waste of a craftsman Valenza ).
? Performance - acceler-azione/deceler-azione Modern Times, edited by SPACE ARCHITECTURE C8 in Via Bonelli 11 (beginning performances Friday, June 6th 20.30 - 20 Sunday, June 8th term ).
The performance, addresses the value of time in everyday contemporary, making the viewer protagonist of his time interacting with the body , objects and words.
? Talk Collecting Space Design at Azimuth ( Piazza Emanuele Filiberto 11 , Saturday, June 7 at 19 ). Guido Curto, Paola Colombari and Enzo Biffi Gentili will discuss the themes of collecting design.
? Talk Verve meets Ilia Potemine at Spazio Verve ( Via Bellezia 33 , Sunday, June 8 16:00 to 18:00 hours ) . Meetings, within the space Verve , with designer Ilia Potemine .
? Talk Art or Design? , At Spazio Azimuth ( Piazza Emanuele Filiberto 11, Sunday, June 8 18.30). Fabrizio Vespa with Andrea Toso Digital Strategies are confronted with the design of bloggers present at the event.

WORKSHOP
During the three days of TURNA were also organized the following workshops :

Cement and resin materials united by the same process, but different. How to create a common dialogue , what could be the possible paths , the raids ? An experimental two-day workshop to discover unexpected materials and languages ??. With the technique of casting mold , Resin Cement and contribute to textures hybrid form capable of returning the value to remove the material.

PASTA MADE IN CASA_mad wood , curated by Daniela Madeddu .

A workshop to rediscover an ancient material and reuse it in a contemporary way , combining it with the lightness of the glass. The wood pulp , usually used in the restoration and handcrafted finishes , here becomes a creative material to be molded and used in new ways , inspired by Nordic design such atmospheres , dry and minimal .
