It is not uncommon in the history of art there are significant personality whose edges fade with the passing years. Mario Faraoni, born in Cremona in 1914, and then lived in Pinerolo, is one of those painters who participated actively in the artistic context of his time, whose figure is still, to this day, waiting to be rediscovered.
From 5 to 20 September 2014, on the centenary of his birth, the Association Mario Faraoni offers three major exhibitions through which to read the entire works of this artist by nature shy but participatory cultural humus of his time in relation to the cultural context in which he worked. A rediscovery of the value of this painter, described by Bernardi Martian "an excellent portrait of the landscape," and Luigi Carluccio "a fine artist, delicate and sensitive."
The exhibition features a selection of the most important works of the Pharaohs, divided by thematic areas: in Turin (Piedmont Region Exhibition Hall), the human figure, his portraits of intimate and delicate, in Pinerolo (Civic Collection of Art in Palazzo Vittone) production dedicated to the tradition of landscape and Torre Pellice (Civica Galleria d'Arte Contemporanea Philip Scroppo) graphics production, made of machines that reveal the side of her immediate and modern pictorial stroke.
On the occasion of the exhibitions will be realized a monograph with critical texts and images of the most significant works published by Alzani Publisher. Critical essays edited by: Bruno Quaranta, Mario Marchiando Pacchiola.
