The Jews in the Desert
Church of San Giorgio Maggiore
DESCRIZIONE:The two incredible panels in the presbytery are the late masterpieces of Tintoretto who would die the year following their creation (1594). The painting shows the jews in the desert, carrying out their daily routines after having gathered the manna from heaven, still visible on the ground. Moses is visible on the right, recognizable by his halo.
