Novecento
Rivoli Castle – Museo d'Arte Contemporanea
It is one of the most famous and irreverent works by the Padua-native artist and of the museum. The title is inspired by a movie masterpiece by Bernardo Bertolucci (1976). It is a horse, portrayed realistically, hanging from the ceiling with legs and neck dangling towards the ground. The same theme had already been addressed by Cattelan in his work La Ballata di Trotski (1996) and in his first solo exhibition in New York.
