DESCRIZIONE:
This was next to the area dedicated to the livestock market (Foro Boario), and it was the fruit and vegetable market. Since the republican era it has been characterized by three temples: The Temple of Janus, the Temple of Hope and the Temple of Giunone Sospita. The first, already part of the Foro Boario; of the other two are traces within the structure of the church of San Nicola in Carcere, the first mention of which dates back to the Eleventh Century. At the middle of the same century, the Casa dei Crescenzi was built, a medieval dwelling to the left of the Palazzo dell’Anagrafe (1936-37).
