The Hotel des Bains beach is easily recognizable for its elegance and its huts with their typical straw roof. Its Pagoda houses the facilities of the beach establishment, with showers, terraces and naturalist panoramic spots overlooking the sea. Since 1900 the hotel, which became very famous for its balls and parties, was the destination of cultured and elegant personalities, and this is where Thomas Mann set his novel “Death in Venice”. With the opening of the International Film Festival in 1932 the hotel and its beach started being also frequented by great stars, including Liz Taylor and Robert De Niro.
