Arch of Septimius Severus
Built between 202 and 203 for the Emperor whose name it bears, it was a gift for his children Caracalla and Geta and also marked the victory against the Parthians in a war which took place in 195 and once again between 197 and 198. Comprised of three archways, it is the oldest triumphal arch still intact today. It  is decorated by splendid bas-reliefs that narrate the imperial campaign in Mesopotamia.
