The exhibition brings together a rich selection of around 100 paintings and works on paper and focuses more on the French avant-garde of the late nineteenth century, with particular emphasis on Neo-Impressionists, Symbolists and Nabis, and the greatest exponents of these movements, including Paul Signac , Maximilien Luce, Pierre Bonnard, Maurice Denis, Felix Vallotton and Odilon Redon.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a fully illustrated catalog with essays by scholars as Bridget Alsdorf (Princeton University), Marina Ferretti Bocquillon (Musée des Impressionnismes) and Gloria Groom (Art Institute of Chicago). The exhibition and the catalog will give the Italian public the rare opportunity to see and study a coherent group of French works of this period.
