Starting in February, the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana offers a new series of meetings , organized by Tiziana Plebani Historical Office - Learning , entitled "Lessons from History" : Historic and historical recount the passion of research. For the first meeting, Tuesday, February 25, 2014 , at 10 am, in the vestibule of the Sansovino Library (entrance from the Piazzetta San Marco 13 / a , Venice) , Joseph Ricuperati will hold a conference on the theme "One awkward Italian and European Enlightenment : Pietro Giannone and the works of the prison ", for it explores issues of Triregno , a masterpiece of the European Radical literature , born in the crucible of Vienna.
The Apologia de ' scholastic theologians and the Story of the pontificate of Gregory the Great are reinterpreted and presented in the light of the wanderings of the philosopher and the role of Venice in their development , from the recent critical edition , prepared under the scientific direction of Professor. Pietro Giannone
Born in Ischitella May 7, 1676 and died in Turin March 17, 1748 , was one of the protagonists of radical Enlightenment Europe. Author of some of the most important works of the first half of the eighteenth century , hunted throughout Italy by the Roman Inquisition , was arrested in Savoy in March 1736 to be exchanged by the skilful and powerful demonic minister footprint with the resumption of the Benedictine agreed .

Professor Emeritus of the Faculty of Humanities, University of Turin , a member and leader of several Italian academies , including the Lincei , currently Director responsible for the " historic Italian Magazine " .
