Rossella Gilli, whose themes are similar to those of 14.Biennale, entitled "Fundamentals" directed by Rem Koolhaas, in representing visual art through the architecture of the past and the present.
The exhibition, curated by Fortunato D'Amico, highlights the process of transformation from nature to architecture, in which the light is of fundamental importance in assisting the journey of a grain of sand from the formation of rocks to the creation of buildings. The luminous element present in the work of Rossella Gilli , especially in the representation of sea and sky, is reflected on the ground and on architectures and made the connection.
In the work of the Marquis Gresy the man who comes out of the ground and comes to light for the artist symbolizes the origins of human nature-related : the man comes into the world , erects architectural structures and is projected in a society in constant evolution.
The subjects offered by Rossella Gilli are the desert sand, rocks and architecture, from the ancient Marrakech, which for the artist represent the extreme size of the earth, to skyscrapers.
Among the works in the exhibition stand of medium and large canvases such as: Sand Sea , Sea of alchemy, Cathedral Rocks, The Mosque of booksellers - Koutoubia in Marrakech, the Pillar of the Central Station and the Pirelli Tower in Milan by Gio Ponti, surrounded by the buildings of the last generation. It also admire some new specially created for the occasion.
The layout designed by Fortunato D'Amico is divided into three octagons respectively dedicated to the Earth, Light and Architecture, and creates a dialogue with the work of Michelangelo Pistoletto's "Third Heaven", located in the large garden and consists of three circles that invokes the mathematical sign of infinity. The work evokes the evolution of human society : in the first paradise men are integrated to nature ; in the second they live in a paradise , artificial intelligence developed from their projected towards globalization ; the " Third Heaven " combines the two previous ones in a natural dimension , technology and ethics : a new level of planetary civilization.
The symbol of the "Third Heaven" is found in the paintings of historical and recent vessels in Murano glass Rossella Gilli in which the artist sees the positive energy regenerative act on the individual and the world.
