On Sunday 14 September for the occasion of the European Day of Jewish Culture 2014, at 6 pm will be inaugurated the second exhibition Jerusalem. Where people rise. Photographs by Giovanni Chiaramonte.
The arrangement and the mode of my photograph I found in a book by Franz Rosenzweig, who I had arrived by Benjamin and Scholem, The Star of Redemption, which has as its epigraph a verse of Psalm 45: "Win and ride for the cause of truth. "
Formless expanse contemporary planetary where, as the poet says Milosz "the everywhere is nowhere and no place anywhere," the instant of a photograph can transform the desolate land of our exile in the land of the living our return, and looking to the west from the southernmost tip of Europe to the Atlantic Ocean, traveling to the East as the ambiguous penumbra of the Via Dolorosa, in the heart of Old Jerusalem that now I find myself through my images, I feel above me here and now, always and everywhere, the day of His light wides.
