The renovated GRUPPO BOILER gladly presents you its new collective exhibition at Françoise Calcagno Art Studio.
It’s about an experiment - sharing permanently an exhibition space, pursued by 16 artists that in this way create a real self-managed showroom of contemporary art. These small and medium sized artwork offer a rich and interesting insight to the current artistic production. All artists involved, from various nationalities, have some connection with Venice and perhaps that’s the thread that unites them.
Here new artworks by the artists of the GRUPPO BOILER will be displayed.
Elvezia Allari creates outfits, jewellery and works of artificial textile design, favouring a kind imaginary with surprising and synthetic objects.
Silvia Battisti makes small sized works where the intensity of colour, the writing made of signs, the metallic lines compose spatial and formal balances at times dramatic.
Françoise Calcagno presents works in which she plays with Venice’s images. Photography combines with abstract painting, reviving timeless memories and atmospheres.
Cristina presents here studies of coloured bodies on paper; colours and papers always occupied an important place in the artist’s research. Mario Esposito’s pictures strike for the variation and the brilliancy of forms and colours, creating a microcosm, in which the artist’s sensitivity can be expressed. He find s in the unusual small size his communications medium. The latest works of Hélène Galante have as central theme the life with its cycles, represented through the vegetal nature.
Daniela Levera has developed her studies in Faenza and since 2014 she works clay in her personal lab in Venice, trying to reveal secrets and possibilities of this wonderful material. Cate Maggia has come to the development of a personal technique based on the use of collage. She uses in fact clothing and accessories that have marked her history.
For Alix Manchet the matrix is the blank page of the story in which her sign stands out by grooving metal and wood, by scratching plexiglass, by ripping off the carton in order to let the light make its way among the empty and the full of the overlaps. In this way she creates movement and dynamism.
Concetta Nasone’s B’Estes, created in collaboration with Eugenia Pinna, are sculptures which represent the typical animals of Sardinian fauna. Entirely hand made by weaving the wool on a silhouette of pressed wood.
In recent years, Gabriele Perissinotto has re-discovered a youth passion, photography. Many of his recent works indeed are digital photographs processed and printed in various ways on different materials.
Luigi Rifani uses objects, pictures, negatives and graphics on cardboard to create original collages. He exhibited for the first time in 1973 at Fondazione Bevilacqua la Masa, then continued with numerous solo and collective exhibitions in Italy and abroad.
In her works Katia Scotti invites us to explore a world rendered with a precision and an attention for details that make it look real. At the same time it gives shape to always new meanings and emotions.

calcagnoartgallery@gmail.com www.calcagnoartstudio.com “Randomness” is the key word that artist Agustina Ponce uses to describe her works, which come to life and grow through the use of recycled objects and colour. Her work can come and go with no direction, it’s reason and irrationality, it’s calm and bewilderment, with a hint of hazard. Paola Volpato is a multimedia artist, who works on frescos, site-specific artworks, videos and art books. Here are shown small watercolours from the series 1-2-3 stella? and Per Pessoa
