Guest of the festival exhibition "ART @ Hilton " edited by Giudecca 795 Art Gallery , the painter Françoise Calcagno presents material works and evocative , in which the protagonist is the color , but not only. In fact, in addition to exhibiting works with large fields of color , presents the work that plays with images of Venice , places significant to her and her loved ones, where they live , such as the Jewish Ghetto . The photograph , combines abstract painting , reviving memories and moods without any real timing : that of Françoise Calcagno is a vibrant painting from which emerge signs , lace , images discovered in a forgotten drawer of memory.
Françoise says about his work : " ... These works are part of a series of paintings characterized by large fields of color often limited by a black band that sometimes I place the top edge , other times at the sides of the canvas. Black creates a boundary that gives more strength to the color allowing it to expand into the sides were open. The canvas , the material , the color is "place" , physical space, territory and boundaries of space, but the color embraces , includes , permeates and penetrates the beholder, exceeds the limits . The painted canvas is part of life , nothing of what you see is a symbol , everything is a sign , track , map in which you can enter. In my work I try to keep a track of time, I point out the volatility , instability , also the value of the loss , creating layers of color and material that partly hidden , partly reveal what is underneath, invisible trajectories , relations on the one hand these signs are my impression , the
My take possession of the space of the media , on the other signs represent the invisible , the relationships between things, connections and distances , the structure that supports " .
Her Francesca Brandes writes: "The work of Françoise Calcagno , its unique memory map , I get recursive and structured as the development of an DNA : a little ' how to imagine a picture of a man who
is holding its own photo, in which photo is holding its own , and so on. The idea is that of a game of Chinese boxes , or - in fact - the genetic code imprinted in every cell of the body. Sometimes the relationship between the individual elements and the overall design is much more intricate and creates different layers , different levels of knowledge : this less palpable , but fascinating material recursion is perhaps the true face of the creative intelligence of Françoise , his way to operate . His searing perception involves a layering of clues, mounted to each
on the other , ranked , but at the same time independent , original , mutually indifferent. A set of hierarchies unstable , shaken by storms that deform . A journey of change which , over and over , the coordinates. Recursion Françoise weaves a personal , intense art of memory . She chases the memory with your hands in places that the time of sowing itself, and acts with his hands in the journey, more upbeat in place . The excavation along with painful and salvific ; entire surface to be engraved in minute scars , the opera follows the rhythm of the seasons and the breath of the white winters
snowy , empty of forgetfulness, the focus of the summer blaze that materializes odors. Life feeds on the past which, in turn, feeds the sweetness of today immedicata : all the unsaid , the left out , what remains in the seed and blooms , this resonates today in the work of Calcagno . His recall is a firefly fire , an eco home that resonates at the temples . "
