First discussion with the public for the twelve recipients of Atelier Bevilacqua La Masa in 2015, that on 24 and 25 March will present their artistic research in a double appointment dedicated: the Artists'Talk be held in Palazzo Tito Tuesday 24, while the next day artists open the doors of their studies specially prepared premises of Palazzo Carminati at San Stae and the Cloister of SS. Cosma and Damiano at Giudecca.
The recipients for 2015, selected by a jury through a competition dedicated to artists between 18 and 35 active in Triveneto, are: Valentina Furian, Enej Gala, Riccardo Giacconi, Caterina Morigi, Francesco Nordio, Miriam Secco, Davide Sgambaro, Sebastiano Sofia, Matteo Stocco, Valerio Veneruso, Christian Manuel Zanon and Annalisa Zegna.
The program of the artist's studies of Bevilacqua La Masa is among the oldest in Europe and originated in 1901 at the bequest of Felicita Bevilacqua La Masa to Venice Municipality; the Bevilacqua La Masa is the only Italian public institution to be awarded annually to as many 12 studio artists, active in various fields of visual arts (painting, performance, video art, relational art, installations, photography, etc.).
The artists will work for twelve months in the spaces assigned to them and their dedicated a full program that provides opportunities for discussion with the audience, as the days of Open Studios, different times of the exhibition, as the White Night of Art, and other activities reserved for assignees, as the numerous studio visits with curators, journalists and other professionals both Italian and international. The program concludes with a final exhibition, accompanied by a publication.
To enrich the program of studies, the Bevilacqua La Masa has activated a network of relationships that led to collaborate with relevant institutions, such as the Civic Museums Foundation of Venice, Rebaudengo Turin, Viafarini Milan, Fondazione Bonotto Molvena, the Spinola Banna Foundation for Art and the Museum of Poirino Carlo Zauli Faenza. Also thanks to the network built in recent years, the artists of the Atelier BLM have won many awards and participated in prestigious residences abroad.
