On February 6, 2015 it was the 5th centenary of the death of Aldo Manuzio, the printer and publisher of the most important Renaissance, the great humanist who rediscovered the Greek philosophical culture and invented a whole series of devices that have made the printed book the main and most rational tool for the accumulation and transmission of human knowledge of the past five centuries.
Among the initiatives in Italy and abroad the Committee for the celebrations attivated by the Veneto Region (with Ca Foscari University and the Biblioteca Marciana) promoted a study conference to check the status of research around a figure that has always interested scholars of each country.
The conference titled Aldo Manuzio and the Making of the Myth will be held between 26 and 28 on February in the hall of Ca Foscari in Ca Dolfin and the Hall Sansovino in Marciana and will be attended by specialists from Canada, France, Germany, Greece, England, Italy.
