From 7 to 9 November InsideLab hosts the exhibition of the first works of the project Vetro Retrò, glass lamps and objects born from the combination of the creativity of the architect Paola Giordano and the expert craftsmanship of artisans and restorers glassmaking Lella and Carla Tricerri.
They meet in 2011 in the glasslaboratory Tricerri in 7 Bellezia Sreet in Turin, begin to work together and of course after a while comes an agreement between them that results in a desire to create a "project" together, which merge their expertise in the creation of artifacts . The works for the most part can be reproduced, but will never be serial for the intrinsic characteristics of materials, colors and craftsmanship of the construction.
The technique used is mixed. The traditional tying of tiffany stained glass, opalescent and cathedral combine inserts of various materials ranging from precious shards of glass to metal mesh, perforated metal sheets, and so on. "Desecrating unions - says Paola Giordano - in which the noble original technique is reshaped freely, creating new solutions for objects and volumes of light and color."
Each piece has a name, a history and speaks to him through the materials chosen.
Some like Odile, scrash and Cameo are unique: they live in both contemporary materials that shards of glass history; Paola Giordano took the opportunity to play them, creating works that will revive with new light in new places.
To emphasize the stories of each lamp and the objects on display will be a soundtrack that will accompany the visitor in the path, getting lost in the Battle of GB original music and excerpts taken from the novel "A girl at Tiffany" by Susan Vreeland, interpreted by voices of Frank Berardi, Fabrizio Gorge, Morocco Laura, and GB Battle.
All lamps and objects are for sale.
