The exhibition consists of twenty-five photographs in vibrant colors, romantic, clean slates, and as bits of scented madeleines plunge the viewer into a kind of space-time gap: internal images of New Yorkers open wide the windows of ways that we have already come from holding hands 'author, street scenes, views of the markets, shop windows.
The unadorned everyday in the neighborhood where the author lived for fifteen years or looks best in a continuous stream that identifies, from the austere views of Via Saluzzo in Turin of the century we have just left behind, opens to a sunny albeit melancholic space larger that the author full of figures that they rise as if by magic to autonomous aesthetic value, which again makes architecture and landscapes characters with their character.
Giorgio Avigdor arrived at these pictures after a brilliant career as a photographer and costume urban environment and invented a poetic and nuanced vocabulary to describe the reality of his New York.
