The "Borgo Medievale" of Turin, in collaboration with Studio Graffio presents from April 29 to July 19, the photo exhibition from the story "Portrait of Italy" by Barbara Debernardi.
The exhibition is a tribute to the work of farmers and ranchers, the rural way of life related to the environment, the natural rhythms, the traditions. Just like the "Borgo" which, in 1884, when it was built, had among its objectives the protection of traditional knowledge related to crafts, which was likely to succumb to the rising industrial production in series.
The "Borgo" also features in some of its buildings and monuments, important reference of the Valley of Susa, background and the protagonist of the story.
The images on display, taken with extreme realism by Franco Borrelli, tell the story of the protagonists of the story of Barbara Debernardi. We find the first cow Italy, the main character, and around her other animals on whose watch barbafisiu, the host, and magnamarieta, his wife, the dog Sergent, Genesia sheep, rooster Bartolomeo, rabbit Tilio, the donkey Nino .
The images are brought to life in the video of Richard Humbert, that captures the atmosphere of the stables and pastures, milking and harvesting hay, where reigning harmony and healthy country life tied to the natural cycles, transhumance and products antique flavor . To complete the exhibition, exhibition hall in some craft items related to the daily life of the mountain made at various times, from the late eighteenth century to the early twentieth century, from the Valle d'Aosta artisans who worked wood, stone and iron, that they belong to the collection of Jules Brocherel Palazzo Madama.
