The Albertina Academy of Fine Arts dedicates a retrospective exhibition to Evangelina Alciati (1883-1959), painter in Turin's first and late twentieth century and the first woman to be admitted to the Academy where he graduated in drawing and painting.
The artist confronts the trends that characterize the first part of the twentieth century, post impressionist painting, Expressionism and the Metaphysics, in which we highlight some points of contact with the work of Felice Casorati.
The exhibition, curated professors Edoardo Di Mauro and Pino Mantovani, with critical contributions by Francesco De Caria, Donatella Taverna and professor of the Academy Valeria Piasentà, presents a full path and reasoned in all phases of the artistic painter, from the early twentieth century after World War II.
The exhibition was made possible thanks to the loan of works from private collectors, and institutions such as the Gallery of Modern Art in Turin, Gamba Castle - Regional Museum of Valle d'Aosta, the Foundations and Burzio Mazzonis.
The eye and the soul opens on March 6th, at 6pm.
