Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Biblioteca Reale opens the exhibition Canova: the beauty and virtue. Drawings and sculptures from the collections of Turin and Bassano del Grappa.
The exhibition offers the public a collection of works by Antonio Canova, one of the leading exponents of Neoclassicism, presenting for the first time the 5 designs of Venetian art acquired by Carlo Alberto in 1845, along with drawings, sculptures and paintings from the Museo Civico Bassano del Grappa, the Gallery of Modern Art in Turin and from a private collection. The aesthetic reflection Canova opens for a more stylistic they eat devices defined for the hall of the Royal Library from Bologna Pelagio Palagi, decorative role in the renewal of the Savoy residences.
