Biasutti & Biasutti Gallery is proud to present a solo exhibition of works by Aldo Mondino (Turin 1938- 2005).
The retrospective will feature a selection of about twenty works spanning from the beginning of the Sixties to the end of the Eighties, a complete vision of this artist’s career, whose first shows date back to the early Sixties in Paris.
Aldo Mondino began his artistic adventure as an interpreter of the Conceptual Movement, then gradually direct his research on a side far more pictorial. Mondino’s works explore various media, with materials ranging from acrylic to bronze or wood. Significant works are Souvenir d'Ittiodrom (1969/73) and Modern Collages (1970) or Lobby Star(1989) and Lira. The poetic universe of Mondino is marked by a stylistic eclecticism and a great irony that permeates all his work. Puns between titles and content are suspended in a surreal space, all of his work comes as part of a research related to the conceptual experimentation.
