Nero Gallery is pleased to present "Adamas ou Paradis Perdus" bi-personal show by Veronique Dorey (France) and Grazia Padula (Rome – Italy), from June 15 to July 22. The exhibit is a collection of 20 drawings depicting women in their most intimate and spiritual dimension, in relation to animals, nature and their spirit.
"Adamas" is a term from ancient Greek that means "diamond", recurring element in Grazia's works. This stone, reputed indestructible by the ancients, is a symbol of eternity, invincibility and brightness, and is the image of the spiritual force present in all of us. Legends from various parts of the world tell that diamonds are the tears of gods fell out of the sky, able to free men from demonic influences, to divert dire predictions and diseases.
Veronique's female figures, on the other hand, appear to be abducted and accompanied on a journey of rebirth from animals, their spirit guides. In Veronique's drawings, man and animal are in total symbiosis, as if these creatures were projections of our deeper self, the primordial principle that drives our lives.
"Adamas ou les Paradis Perdus" is a journey in search of our roots, our collective unconscious, our lost paradise.
15th June from 8.00 p.m.: Opening of “Adamas ou Les Paradis Perdus” at Nero Gallery
