Galleria Alessandra Bonomo is pleased to present NUTI.SCARPA, a dialogue between Lulù Nuti and Delfina Scarpa featuring sculptures and paintings realized in the last year specifically for the gallery space.
The exhibition places the viewer in an intimate confrontation with the representation of a changing world. Landscapes portraying diverging visions that materialize through the use of different media but reconcile in their use of colour.
An exploration which begins in matter for Lulù Nuti, relying on it to create a site-specific installation and a series of new sculptures which materialize involuntarily from the series “Calcare il Mondo” – a research which explores the relationship between the process of production of construction materials and their impact on the ecosystem. In this way matter takes on a new shape drawing inspiration from the seabed.
Delfina Scarpa’s paintings convey the pure perception of a landscape, they are close-up fragments of everyday journeys made by the artist throughout the years. They are depicted with a contrast of vivid and evanescent colours, creating a timeless imaginary. A true flow of consciousness, detaching itself from technique to make room for the evocative world of memory.
NUTI.SCARPA is an exhibition born with the intention of proposing an aesthetic reflection and stimulating a dialogue between two young artists, both linked to the current Roman art scene.
Lulù Nuti (Rome, 1988) lives and works between Rome and Paris. After graduating at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts de Paris in 2012, she exhibited her work in public institutions and private galleries worldwide among which: Il Museo CAMUSAC, Cassino (2020); Galleria Franco Noero, Turin (2020); Istituto Italiano di Cultura, New Delhi (2019); Galleria Alessandra Bonomo, Rome (2017); la Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris (2014) and the Biwako Biennale, Japan (2012). Her solo shows include include Sistema, Case Romane del Celio, Rome (2015) and Calcare il Mondo at Galerie Chloé Salgado, Paris (2018).
Delfina Scarpa (Rome, 1993) lives and works in Rome. From 2012 to 2016 she attended the Rome University of Fine Arts (RUFA) graduating in sculpture. At the end of her studies she decides to concentrate fully on painting. Among her recent exhibitions: Qualquadra non cosa, Litografia Bulla, Rome (2020); Insieme curated by Gianni Politi, Mura Aureliane, Rome (2020) and Part 1, Galleria Alessandra Bonomo, Rome (2017).
The exhibition will be opening on the 25, 26 and 27 of February from 12.00 to 18.00 in compliance with the current restrictions.
