Lucamaleonte. Wild Bunch

The exhibition contains images and symbols present in the artist's imagination, some of which we can find in his old masonry works. The pieces on display can be divided into three sets: the piles, the individual animals taken from the sets and the symbolic works.
 
In his works Lucamaleonte brings to light images of the past inspired by medieval iconography, esoteric and animal symbols. The animals are depicted in Wild Piles, underlining their sense of chorality inserted in a symbolic syncretism. The set of animals forms a balanced geometry, bringing out the sense of depth and quantity.
 
The attention to detail drawn in a fine and accurate way recalls the woodcuts and low medieval reliefs, emphasizing the well-defined contours and shapes. The same animals represented as a whole are then taken up and extrapolated from the pile, in a condition of uniqueness and singularity as if to represent the study of the subject, accentuating every single line and shade of color. The lines are thick and well defined, the stroke is safe and soft, but also attentive to every single movement and shape.
 
The symbols represented investigate the alchemical universe by extrapolating their meanings and inserting them into new contents and references. The animal represented has a Ptolemaic function that is extrapolated to make it become a scheme: a paradigmatic construction. The broken crown that destroys the old dogmas but at the same time pays attention to divine intervention.
 
Lucamaleonte was born in 1983 in Rome, where he lives and works. He has been painting on the street since the early 2000s, first with stencils and posters, then with brushes and paints. He mainly paints natural forms, of animals and plants, telling a symbolic and hidden world, to be revealed and interpreted. He loves to tell the stories of places through his murals. He has numerous collective and personal exhibitions to his credit, as well as painted walls around the world.
 
In addition to the production of public art with targeted and reasoned interventions, he has increased his activity as an illustrator and painter, collaborates with various brands, from high
jewelry to sportswear, and editorial projects with LaTerza, L'Espresso, Sperling & Kupfer, Gorilla Sapiens Editions, Big Sur.
