Jeanie Leung. Treasure / Linguaggi dell'arte

In June, the Galleria360 awaits you for a double-unmissable contemporary art event: Jeanie Leung’s solo exhibition, “Treasure", and the group exhibition entitled “Linguaggi dell’arte”.

JEANIE LEUNG was born and raised in Hong Kong. Since childhood, she has dreamed of being an artist and an astronaut. During adolescence, however, she decided to study business and graduated in Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. After working for several years in the banking sector, Jeanie Leung returned to her original passion and since 2009 abandoned her employment to become a full-time artist. Just one year later, the grand debut with the publication of the picture book "A Time for the Heart", which was followed in 2011 by her first solo exhibition "Smile, please”. After further enriched her cultural baggage, in 2015 her paintings were exposed at an international art fair in Hong Kong and in 2016, Jeanie Leung treads again along the art scene with "Treasure", a new solo exhibition in Florence at the Galleria360, through which the artist reiterates her desire to reveal to all people the beauty of individual instants of life. Leung’s narrative style leads us through delicate pictorial fables among white forests, magical colorful realms overflowing pastel skies, showing us the way of a passionate journey towards the discovering of the own interiority, which never ends with an arrival, but always with a new departure.

“LINGUAGGI DELL’ARTE" is rather an exhibition of international artists characterized by heterogeneous proposals for styles and artistic temperament. Undoubtedly the current art scene is increasingly diversified and babel, accustoming us to countless languages and addresses. The art of today goes to a continuous overrunning, in a ceaseless mechanism of interpretation and invention, deferment and seduction. This is because today's artists, as well as the protagonists of “Linguaggi dell’arte", propose an art that no longer closed in the academy protected rooms or in the crowded mundane backstage of the exhibition circuit, but instead they choose and take on the difference in the name of a mixture, that for Michel Serres, French philosopher and writer, has a positive value because it "implies a profound an algorithmic idea of the universe”. Dismissing both nostalgic elegies of a past ever more decomposed, that the rigidity of an "official" and exclusive method that as warned Baudelaire, "forces to a perpetual abjuration", the artists of “Linguaggi dell’arte” treasure of this diversity, giving life to a creative symposium able to touch the deepest chords of the human soul.
The opening will take place on Thursday, May 26th, 2016 at 19.00 in via il Prato 11r Florence. During the Vernissage it will be offered a welcome cocktail and live jazz music.
